Posted: December 22, 2002 at 15:21 PM EST (20:21 PM GMT)

Greek champion Olympiakos beat Aigaleo 2-0 on Sunday, 22 December 2002 and remain the Greek league's leaders with 26 points after 12 days of soccer. This means that Olympiakos will be on top of the standings table for the Christmas holiday, as well as the leader in the New Year 2003.

In the 39th minute Christian Karembeu crossed the ball to Patsatzoglou who headed the ball in the back of the net to make the score 1-0 in a very bad soccer pitch due to the weather conditions prevailing in Athens. Olympiakos could have scored their second in the 79th but Predrag Djordjevic failed to convert from the penalty spot as his shot send the ball to hit Sidibeh's right post. In the 88th Choutos took advantage of a tragic error by the Aigaleo goalkeeper and send the ball to rest in the back of the net to make the score 2-0.
